The conference training facility at ECNV is indeed a very active place. All day at ECNV the use of the space changes, and with each change the furnishings and sound system have to adapt. The tables are on wheels for easy maneuverability around the room. Oftentimes in its ''neutral'' position the conference training tables are nested to have the appearance of a Board Room. Throughout the day however they might be moved to the sides of the room for receptions or stacked in a classroom ''lab'' setting for more formal or traditional classroom teaching.
ECNV receives many requests to use our highly accessible conference and work-training facility. If you or your organization needs to use our facility please contact us. As we do strive to be a community resource, ECNV is committed to being a partner with your organization to increase access for public meetings, etc… For-profit companies and non-disability related organizations seeking to rent the facility are welcome, also!
ECNV is committed to routnely providing equal communication access for all individuals who work or visit here, regardless of disability with the Audio Loop that is embedded into the concrete floor underneath the carpet of the conference training room.
The Audio Loop is an invisible auxiliary aid to communication. Individuals who are hard of hearing often have a ''T''-switch in the middle of their hearing aid that they can turn on and off. When a room is ''looped'' with an Audio Loop system and the individual turns on their T-Switch, the presence of the loop serves to amplify any sound that is made within the circumference of that loop and transmit it directly to the hearing aid of the person with a T-Switch. Thus all communications within the circumference of the loop are amplified and all background noises (ballast from overhead lights, sounds from an air conditioner or heating system) are minimized. The result is increased hearing capacity for persons who would otherwise miss many basic, audible components of communication.
There is an Audio Loop that ECNV installed in our conference training facility. The loop was imbedded about 1-1/2 inch below the carpet, into the existing concrete sub-floor and tied into electronics in the closet.
