ECNV Facility Tour | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
ECNV moved into a new, fully accessible independent living skills facility in Clarendon and hosted a Grand Opening in 1999. ECNV's new offices include independent living skills training facilities with accessible kitchen, laundry and bathroom areas that individuals with disabilities can use as "laboratories" to hone their own independent living skills. Assistive technologies are in use and on display throughout the Center, including a barrier-free lift that allows one to transfer independently from wheelchair to shower and a fully adjustable sink height and kitchen counters. The new ECNV facility also has conference
and meeting room space equipped with a built-in audio loop to aid
persons with hearing impairments. A disability
resource library is also available to consumers, as are fully accessible
computer workstations to do Internet searches or simply to prepare resumes.
Our peer counseling facilities include specific provisions for accommodating
persons with environmental illness or chemical injury. From our new facility, ECNV officially inaugurates our commitment to build a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week service delivery, center providing the four core services for independent living: peer counseling, independent living skills training, information and referral, and advocacy. Come for a visit - You are most welcome! Peer Counseling room for persons with environmental illness or chemical injury
