Disability Voter Registration Week and ADA Celebration at ECNV!
National Disability Voter Registration Week and ADA Anniversary Celebration at ECNV!
by: Elizabeth Kumar, Communications Manager
Did you know that the voter turnout rate for people with disabilities is 6 percent lower than that of people without disabilities? Each year, the REV UP campaign, through the American Association for People with Disabilities, organizes National Disability Voter Registration Week (NDVRW) to promote registration and civic engagement among people with disabilities. July 15-19, 2019 was National Disability Voter Registration week. On June 18th, ECNV in conjunction with the League of Women Voters, Spread the Vote and AAPD had an event for Disability Voter Registration Week and celebrated the 29th Anniversary of the American Disabilities Act. The League of Women Voters helped people register and provided voter rights information. Spread the vote was there to help people get ID so that they could register to vote. ECNV was honored to have State Senator Barbara Favola come to support this important cause!
