Each April, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) along with cities and organizations across the country raise awareness of the Fair Housing Act which protects renters and home buyers from discrimination while getting a mortgage, seeking housing, or other housing-related activities.
ENCV exhibited at the Live in Arlington Information Fair, on Saturday April 23. Trusted Disability Champions, Margarita Baquero and Jackeline Reyes, staffed our exhibit and we distributed Covid 19 test kits and information about ECNV’s programs to participants with disabilities, chronic illnesses and the general public.
This was part of the Fair Housing Celebration hosted by Centro de Apoyo Familiar or Center for Assistance to Families (CAF) in partnership with Arlington County. CAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing access to equitable housing services for underserved communities through foreclosure prevention, rental and homeownership counseling, educational workshops and other community empowerment programs.
