Hispanic Community Member Opens Her Home for COVID Vaccine Popup Event

By Rosalia Fajardo, Director, Multicultural Families

Constanza Hernandez, is the mother of a young man with autism, community leader, and advocate for Hispanic families whose children receive special education. On January 20, 2022, she opened the door of her home to facilitate vaccinating a group of Latino parents of children with disabilities who had the opportunity to receive their vaccine while feeling safe with a flexible schedule so they did not lose work hours.

ENCV is proud to be able to offer the community the opportunity to have access to the vaccine with inclusive events in various languages with accommodations to meet the needs of our diverse communities in Northern Virginia thanks to our Trusted Disability Network, Disability Champions, ECNV staff, and community partners.
