The ENDependence Center of Northern of Virginia, Inc. is excited to invite YOU to be a part of the RAMP Program!

The Ready to Achieve Mentoring Program (RAMP) has come to ECNV! RAMP is a career-focused mentoring program for students with disabilities between the ages of 14-21 that promotes family engagement and strengthens training for mentors, youth, and communities.

During the RAMP, students will participate in:

  • Weekly career-focused group mentoring sessions
  • 1 on 1 mentoring sessions
  • STEM projects
  • Goal setting
  • Workplace readiness skills development (such as mock interviews and resume building)
  • Hands on career exploration (such as worksite visits, guest speakers, internships, and job shadowing)

Mentors will participate in:

  • Working with mentees on career-focused goal setting
  • A commitment of 4 hours per month and weekly communication with mentee until July 1, 2023
  • Undergoing Background Checks (Criminal, Child Protective Services, Sex Offender Registry)
  • Mentor training sessions and attending optional mentor/mentee group events, mentor support groups, and program recognition events

ECNV is partnering with the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) to bring this program to Fairfax County and is looking for community members, volunteer mentors, local leaders, businesses, employers, trade schools, and universities to help support and strengthen RAMP for students with disabilities embarking on their next phase of education and career journeys.
