Money Matters
Youth and Adults Training Series to Help You Understand How to Manage Your Money.
ECNV offers this training class for youth to help people with disabilities understand and manage money. Classes are virtual. Registration is required for those not referred by their DARS counselor or DD Waiver Support Coordinator. All interested individuals (or counselors) are welcome to ask questions at info@ecnv.org. Participants must be Northern Virginia residents.

ECNV offers programs and individualized services for individuals 23 years and older and all disability types. From one-on-one support to skill-building classes led by Independent Living Specialists, we help people gain the confidence, knowledge, and resources to achieve their goals and live independently.

Participants will learn to

Understand what money is and the ways that it can be earned, lost, saved, and spent

Do basic budgeting through identifying financial wants, needs, and obligations.

Identify different types of bank accounts and credit products that can be used to hold money and pay for things.

Protect themselves and their money by learning how to identify and avoid scams and financial abuse.

Be prepared to safely earn, save, and spend their own money on their own terms.

Money Matters is perfect for people with disabilities who want to learn more about what money is, how it works, and how they can earn, save, and spend money on their own.
Accessibility & Accommodations
Money Matters will be held virtually. Participants will need access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone (or other electronic device with audio / visuals) to participate.
